Learning disability support

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Boston University's office of learning disability and the accommodations they might offer for a student with ADHD and executive function deficits? Are they known to be easy to deal with or does the office act more like a gatekeeper when it comes to accommodations?

Spring 2017 Transfer

Hey everyone! I am 100% interested in transferring for the upcoming spring semester, but I am starting to get nervous about my GPA. Although it isn't necessarily bad, it is just way too low to give me confidence with this. I have a 3.3 overall and a few solid extracurriculars. I will be transferring from a large state university further away, and I am ready to be in the city of Boston at a great school. I am studying business marketing, with a possible minor in graphic design. A lot of people who I have talked to who have transferred in to BU had higher GPA's, like 3.6 and 3.7. Let me know what you think my chances are, just be honest please so I can either feel better or get a reality check!!!! Thank you all!

Getting ready for application process - Does anyone know if there is a place on the common app where you indicate you are applying to the BS/MD 7 year accelerated program? Also does anyone have any information/insight regarding this program? I know at one time I found a thread with what test scores and which BS to MD programs students had gotten in to, but I cannot seem to find it now. Any help appreciated!

I'm a rising senior from northern California and am I'm an Indian female. GPA: weighted 4.0333, unweighted 3.73 I got a lot of B's in freshman year. However, as high school progressed my grades improved. ACT: 30 (32 english, 34 math, 31 reading, 24 science) and superscore is 31 SAT subject tests: math – 660, chemistry – 680 I realize that my test scores are low. I'm really bad at test taking. Going to try the new SAT in the fall. I go to a really tough public high school that is nationally ranked and my course load was challenging. APs taken: Calculus AB, Psychology, Chemistry APs I'm going to take senior year: Statistics, Computer Science, Macroeconomics, US Political Science EXTRACURRICULARS: Sports: Basketball Volunteer: 300+ hours at a hospital Competitive Clubs: Mock Trial, Speech and Debate Service Clubs: Make-A-Wish Club (granted a wish in 2016), Medical Club, National Organization for Women Club Leadership: High School Orientation Leader and Mentor, Chairman of Hospital Volunteer Program, 3 Year Board Member of the MAW Club (president in senior year)

Hi everyone, I really like BU and was wondering if you would take the time to give me some thoughts on if it is a realistic option for me. I would plan on applying to the CAS for physics or possibly the physics education dual degree. Here are my stats as of junior year: GPA (Weighted): 4.79 GPA (Unweighted): 4.00 SAT (Old Version) Writing: 680 Reading: 640 Math: 660 Composite: 1980 11th grade schedule: AP Language & Composition AP Physics 1 AP Psychology Math Analysis & Trigonometry H Japanese H US History H 12th grade schedule: AP E&M AP Calculus BC AP US Government British Literature H Computer Science H Japanese H Keep in mind, APs are only offered during 11th and 12th grade at my school. ECs: 4 year varsity crew (Coxswain) - this runs fall, spring, and winter Learn to row mentor Tutor 4th and 5th graders at inner city school in math and reading Principals advisory (discuss school issues and ideas for improvement with faculty) NHS in 12th grade (probably) 10th grade and 11th grade neuroscience lab research position (I might get my name on a paper this summer, maybe) Video production work for local non-profit organization Some volunteer work at local cancer center I'd assume my recommendations and essays to be top notch. I personally feel like I am a good fit, but I am really concerned about my test scores. I know that they are not bad, but are not great by any means. I have such a busy summer and do not feel confident that I can get them up with limited time and materials. I come from a notable and well known high school so I am hoping that my GPA and grades demonstrate high achievement and academic capability. Thank you so much for your thoughts.

Freshman Dorms at BU

I'll be studying in CAS as a freshman next year at Boston University and I need some help choosing dorms, West vs. Warren. I've gotten the basic ideas that Warren is good for convenience and West is good for pretty much everything else (correct me if I'm wrong) but what I haven't read about yet is if Warren holds most of the CAS students. As of now I'm leaning more towards West, but I want to make sure there will be a good amount of students in CAS in in West. Help please!

I want to know more about the program and what it's like (other than what it has on the website). Could anyone offer any personal experience with the program? I particularly want to know about the availability of internships and work experience. Please help!

Hey everyone! I just finished up my Freshman year and wanted to give the incoming freshman some advice for school. Throughout my first two semesters, I always found myself coming back to use these apps to network and solve common problems. Yik Yak: A great way to keep up with current news around campus. LinkedIn& Facebook: In college, your network of friends and acquaintances is essential to finding job and internship opportunities. Getmii: A great way to meet new people and buy/sell things around campus. Grubhub: Late night munchies. Uber/Lyft: Perfect for students without cars.

Does anyone know how many of 52,000+ students that apply to BU also apply for the Trustee Scholarship? Also, I see that the BU site says "every year, Boston University welcomes about 20 outstanding students to the Trustee Scholars Program" but does anyone know how many students are offered the Trustee Scholarship (in order to yield ~ 20 students per year)? Thanks!
